What we offer

Three services, one purpose

Each service addresses a different part of preparing for outdoor work in Japan. They can be used individually or in combination, depending on what your situation calls for.

How the services fit together

Different needs, different starting points

Some people arrive with a specific walk in mind and need it planned well. Others have the destination settled but aren't confident their kit is appropriate for the season. Some want to spend time in the field developing the fundamental skills that make decision-making on the trail more reliable.

None of these needs is more legitimate than another. We've kept the three services separate rather than bundling them so that each person can take what's actually useful rather than paying for what isn't.

Trail map and planning materials for Japanese mountain walk

Service 01

Trail Planning and Route Mapping

A planning service for individuals or small groups preparing a multi-day walk across Japanese mountain regions. We discuss your experience, intended pace, and seasonal preferences, then assemble a written itinerary with route notes, lodging options, and transport links between trailheads.

The work spans two sessions and a printed plan. Suitable for hikers familiar with day walks who would like a calmer hand in arranging longer outings. The itinerary is offered as a foundation that you may adjust.

Service 02

Outdoor Gear Selection Advice

A conversation-focused service for those assembling clothing and equipment for Japanese conditions across the seasons. We talk through where and when you intend to be outside, look at items already in your kit, and identify what might be added, kept, or set aside.

A written summary follows the meeting with category-by-category notes and references to brands available in Japan. Suitable for beginners and seasoned walkers refining their selections. No purchases are pushed.

Service 03

Wilderness Skills Development Session

A full-day on-site session covering map reading, weather observation, and self-care practices appropriate to Japanese terrain. The day is built around walking and quiet observation rather than lectures, with small exercises woven into the route.

Group sizes remain modest, with a maximum of six participants. Suitable for those comfortable with several hours of walking who wish to feel a little more self-reliant. The pace adjusts to the group throughout the day.
